Brother Thomas Lumsden
On Tuesday 14 July 2026 Brother Bill Rocks PM Secretary had the pleasure of meeting with Mr Colin Davis from Canada in Kinghorn. Colin is visiting Scotland with his fiancée, Lisa, and the couple are here to celebrate their marriage, which will take place in Kinghorn tomorrow, Wednesday 15 July.
Colin first contacted the Lodge through the Lodge Randolph website in August last year. He explained that following the passing of his aunt, Kathleen Lumsden, he had been helping to clear her home when he discovered several Masonic artefacts that had belonged to her late father, Thomas Lumsden. Recognising their historical significance, Colin expressed a wish to return these items to Lodge Randolph.
Following Colin's initial contact, the Lodge Secretary searched through the Lodge records and confirmed that Tom Turpie Lumsden, born in West Wemyss on 14 August 1900 and residing at Marine Buildings, West Wemyss, was initiated into Lodge Randolph on 10 November 1927. At the time of his initiation, Thomas was employed as an Underground Fireman (Mine Deputy or Shotfirer).
Today, Colin presented the Lodge with Thomas Lumsden's Master Mason Certificate (Diploma) together with his Masonic regalia, both of which are now approaching 100 years old.
